Television industries

During my university experience, I also developed other practical media skills including television industries. At university, I have undertaken multiple roles within the television department including, presenter, producer, camera operator and editor.

My biggest project was producing and presenting a female empowerment talk show entitled ‘tea n talk’. As a producer, I was required to form an exciting show with unique content, which would appeal to our 17+ audience. This role required me to conduct extensive research into each show segment and produce a running order in which the show sequence would follow.

As a producer I also created a 35-minute script for my show, this task required me to use my creativity to engage with our viewers at home. Whilst being heavily involved with the pre-production responsibilities I was the face of the show, by presenting it and hosting a debate segment with females.

This project allowed me to exercise my creative skill set and leadership skills as I was often required to do a lot of public speaking and brief the relevant people on the finer details of the show.

I also worked at a Birmingham based television studio for a year as a news journalist. For the majority of my experience, I worked independently as a producer, editor and journalist.
